Conditions for today were forecasting huge winds from the W/NW, that would eliminate all kinds of good fishable water for me. I was going to have to focus on a couple of miles of slightly sheltered areas and decided to begin with sturgeon, before it all blew up! Callum and his father were with me from Australia and looking for a few new species to catch. We were able to get 3 smaller fish in the first few hours, before the winds got out of control. A quick switch up to bass provided more action, but the fish weren’t very big either. I was forced to fish in the shallower water, knowing that the bigger ones were out deep. Eventually I had to give it a try and moved offshore to where the winds were big. Boat control wasn’t easy, but we made it work nonetheless! A couple of areas were targeted and several more bass were caught, including the biggest ones of the day, Both Callum and his dad managed to catch a couple of good ones before we were done.

Today was a tough one with the big winds and direction but somehow it worked out. They both caught plenty of fish that they had never even seen before. They’ll be spending a couple more weeks in Canada before heading back to the land down under. Summertime is beginning for them now, as we wind down on ours here in the great white north. Great times were had, with great people today!!
