The Back Up PlanOctober 27, 2024
I had to fish a different place today due to the extremely high winds. They were gusting at over 45 km per hour at times and the usual place would have been impossible to fish. Frank & his son Nick were willing to take the drive and were rewarded in spades! They boated so many bass that there was very little down time! Frank even managed to catch his personal best bass along with many others. Despite the cold temps from the blowing winds, they fended quite well and ended with a bang. Our last stop saw numbers of bass landed by both on almost very cast for a while. Great decision to take a road trip today!
A Tough Sturgeon BiteOctober 26, 2024
Tough day on the water fishing sturgeon today, with Adam and his friends. Only a couple of small fish landed and plenty of searching all over the lake for them. At least the weather was great!!
A Pleasant Fall DayOctober 25, 2024
Another picture-perfect fall day and Gaetan & Michel enjoyed it, catching fish. We may have headed out in cool temps, but conditions changed once the sun rose, making this a beautiful day. Both walleye & bass were on the list to do and they caught a limit of Walters before we headed for the smallies. Michel had the biggest bass for the day, but they both fought plenty of quality. Soft plastics and dropshot accounted for all of the fish today as nothing seemed to want anything fast. By days end, they were fully content on all the action from today and left with their dinner tonight. Overall, another great fall day on the water!!
Another Warm OutingOctober 24, 2024
Took a road trip with Darren today, to try for some big smallies. We weren’t looking for numbers and hoped to get into only size. Although still big, they weren’t really the ones we were looking for. With water temps at almost 60 degrees, the fish were everywhere. Unfortunately, so were the boats! Despite all our efforts, we had to settle for average big ones instead. The huge winds didn’t help either, as they blew over 25 knots by afternoon. Regardless, it was still a great day out! This warm fall weather is about to change and I think it will trigger the really big ones into feeding more. Bing on the cold!!
Fat Fall FootballsOctober 23, 2024
Rich was flying solo again today and hoping to get into a good fall bite for smallies. I knew with the weather conditions and no winds forecasted, he should have no problem. It was a little choppy at the start but calming down throughout the day and he was excited to get started!
We hit the first spot and he boated both bass and walleye to kick start the day. Our second place had us fishing for a few hours and he managed to catch, on several different presentations. These fish were eating! The next couple of spots were good but not great and we kept moving in search of another loaded one again. Eventually I stumbled onto a similar area and he pounded on the fish until it was time to go. It was just one of those days!
Fall is a great time for catching footballs and Rich did exactly that today. He landed so many good fish that we didn’t want to stop to take too many pics. I’m not sure how many more of these perfect days are left in the season but hopefully there will be several more ahead. Rich definitely caught em today!!
