    A Bass Tourny Day

I fished a Bass Tournament with Benji today on Lake Champlain. The weather was a rather hot, humid kinda day! No wind made it feel even hotter. Air temps were in the 80s and the water temps were in the mid 70s & green. The algae bloom had Mississquoi Bay looking like someone had spilled a real big can of green paint! Both largemouth & smallmouth were caught in shallow water throughout hte day. All in all, about 25 or so fish were landed and plenty others lost. At the end of the day, a five fish total of 16.5 pounds was weighed in & a 9th place finish was what we ended up with. All in all, a pretty decent day!

    Slow & Steady

I fished on Lake St-Francis with my wife, Christiane today for a few hours. The water temps had dropped since last week, with 69.5 degrees being about the warmest we could find. The shallower water had cooled off quite a bit since last week, so we opted for some offshore locations hoping to get a bit warmer water. It was a cloudy morning with a North wind of about 10 knots. The air temp was in the low 60s. We caught under 10 fish in the few short hours we fished, but they were quality ones with a couple of them going over four pounds. Once again, Mother Nature sent us off the water, early afternoon when thunder storms approached. I hope the weather changes real soon!

    Cold Front Conditions

We fished this morning up till about noon! The conditions had changed drasticly, with a strong North wind gusting to about 20 mph and decent sized waves. Alain, Michel & I braved the weather & headed onto the lake with great expectations only to be humbled. Less than 10 fish were caught and a few others got off before we had a chance to boat them. I dropped a largemouth around five pounds when I thought it was a Northern & did not concentrate on landing it until it jumped and showed her face. The deep water bite was also a pattern that we tried on this, another lake! It works here too!!

    More Deep Water Bass

Another incredible day for huge, deep water largemouth bass today with Alain & Michel. The conditions were about the same, with cooler morning air temps of about 60 degrees. We had pretty much the same type of fishing, but a little bit less action today as we only landed about 50 bass. They were still all quality fish up to & possibly over 5 pounds with the average being over 3 pounds once again. All in all, another great day!!!
