Although the day started out great, we had to call it early due to thunderstorms rolling in. What should have been an 8-hour day turned into a 6-hour outing. Ezzat & Mike did manage to catch a bunch of fish however and that’s all that counts. They dropshotted the entire time and missed plenty as well before we ended the day, abruptly. We were fortunate to get off just as the rain began and stayed relatively dry. Too bad we had to call it early as the conditions were about perfect prior to the storm. I’d call this one a tie with Mother Nature!!

Another double trip today saw Michelle and her family in the morning and Bruno and his in the afternoon. Fog and a NE wind greeted us for the first trip, but it didn’t make a difference. All 4 of the group caught fish anyway! Bass, walleye, perch and pike all cane to the boat in this short 4-hour trip.

The afternoon saw flat calm, sunshine, and scorching heat. Bruno and his family managed to land bass and each of them brought a sturgeon to the boat as well. Tougher than this morning, but we still made it work! Today was an exhausting time on the water, filled with plenty of adjustments. Overall, it seemed to work out in the end and everyone had a great time. Double trip days are always the toughest!!

Denis and his two sons, Jacques and Sebastien were with me today and hoping to break their bad luck streak of fishing on their own. They had tried to catch fish in their boat before, but success was non-existent! Today it would all change!

We began with a troll and managed to get some nice walleye for them to take back at the end of the day. The bite was a bit strange with a couple of them never even firing the reel and several missed strikes. They weren’t very aggressive at all. When it slowed completely, we headed for bass and casting soft plastics.

The remainder of the day saw multiple hookups and plenty of smallies coming aboard. Everyone caught and missed many fish in the remaining time out. This was by far their best day ever, on these waters!

Well, it was definitely a better day today! Despite similar conditions to yesterday, we at least had plenty of clouds. The fish cooperated more, but not on the first couple of areas we fished. It took until the third spot before Tracy and his son Cody began catching smallies. The action wasn’t fast & furious but they picked at them pretty good. We even left them biting and decided to try for walleye sometime after noon. The conditions weren’t great for a walleye bite, but I hit some deeper water, hoping to get into a few before we called it a day.

By now the sun had broken through the clouds and the waters were still flat calm. It didn’t feel like there was any current, but Cody managed to hook into a bigger fish after catching several perch. He brought a nice 24 incher to the net which turned out to be his personal best! We made a couple more drifts afterwards without any success and they decided to call it a day. It was a real scorcher again and they had seen enough for today!

Although the fishing was a slow bite, both Tracy and Cody managed to get into plenty of good bass today. The walleye was an added bonus and a welcomed surprise with the conditions we faced. Overall, it wasn’t a bad day for only a 6-hour trip. Hopefully the good fishing will continue!!

Matt Jake & Mary were out with me today on a flat calm, sunny outing. After a week of giant, howling winds, it finally laid down to absolutely nothing! Add to that a big fishing tournament and it made for tough fishing all around. The trolling bite was rather slow so we were forced to switch up to bass after only a couple of hours in. Unfortunately, it seemed like everywhere we wanted to be, there were boats fishing too! I practically covered the lake searching out places to fish! Overall, it was a real tough day with only pike and bass to show for out efforts. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow!!
