Ron, Sam & Doc were back with me on another trophy lake for smallies once again this morning. The day began overcast with light winds from the S\/SE, intensified to 10 to 15 by early afternoon & turned wet with full rain. Water temps were 62 degrees with air temps below 60 by afternoon as well. They were hoping for a good top water bite and began with zaras for a while. Doc was the first to hook up with a good fish and landed one over 4 pounds right away. We mixed it up a little during the day and went back & forth between spooks and jigs, catching on both presentations. All three guys landed big smallies of almost 5 pounds today on surface baits & jigs. Less fish were caught today but the conditions weren\u2019t anywhere near as good, as yesterday. By day\u2019s end there were close to 20 huge smallies caught & released. All in all a great day on the water!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
