Cool Morning Bites
septembre 17, 2022
Harley & his wife Nadia joined me this morning on a chilly start to the day. Sure glad I wasn’t wearing shorts like Harley! Winds were out of the NW and clouds kept the air cool for a while. The fishing wasn’t great either but first pass yielded a nice sized keeper walleye for Nadia that went right into the livewell. She managed a few more fish in the several passes after but most were smallies. Great fights from these big footballs!
I made multiple passes over the area but had to use the electric motor in order to get the line I needed. Harley managed a few bass of his own and Nadia landed a good sized over walleye and more smallies before I decided to relocate. It was just not happening here despite marking all kinds of fish!
I headed to a rocky flat and we spent the remainder of the morning making passes over the hard bottom. Both Harley & Nadia manage to have plenty of action and caught lots of walleye before we were done.
It may have been a little slow this morning but things definitely picked up as the air warmed. They managed to catch the biggest and most fish they ever had in only a half day. I can only imagine what a full day would have been! More great days ahead!
