    Personal Best Monster

I wanted to get back out for more of those sturgeon today so seeing as how I had no clients, Christiane & I hit the water again. We anchored up & were able to land 5 nice fish and had a few mishaps on several others. Damn these things pull hard! Another short but productive outing!

    Short But Sweet

I hit the water again today with Christiane and mixed it up a bit. Sturgeon, bass & walleye were all landed and a couple of the walleye came home for dinner. Another great outing and we only fished for 4 hours!

    Tony, Richard & Gaston

Tony, Richard & Gaston never expected what today was about to bring and couldn’t have imagined it in their wildest dreams! After an unsuccessful hunt for the elusive “Holy Grail” lunge, we decided to attempt another beast. This one proved to be more cooperative however and they all landed monsters. Thank god for cooperative fish!

    Happy First Timers

Jonathan & his son Jackson were with me this afternoon for another heat wave. I had plenty of time to prep the boat before they arrived and made sure the Bimini top was erected! Temps were about 90 degrees with absolutely zero wind. It was going to be a scorcher! They hadn’t really fished before so I decided to troll under the shade of the top. We managed to get smallies, pike & some walleye before breaking for another dip in the lake. I had mentioned this to them over the phone and they were all prepared for it. Later in the afternoon after the refreshing swim I decided to check some open water areas and found some walleye schooled . By drop shotting they were able to add several more fish to the day before heading out. I know Jackson wanted to eat his catch but their family had other plans organized. I guess they will just have to come back for another trip next year to enjoy their “Catch of The Day”!

    The Carolina Crew

An old client of mine had contacted me months ago to organize a day out with three of his friends. Today they arrived to see Montreal at its finest! Although the troll for the elusive musky proved useless, we turned everything around after. The remainder of the day was well spent drop shotting open water for a mix of bass, walleye and a few decent northern pike. This was one of the hottest days in a while, but all four of them didn’t think so. Seeing as how they were from North Carolina, this wasn’t even what they would call hot. They didn’t even break a sweat while I broiled in the sun! Thankfully the fishing was just as hot and plenty of action was had after the morning troll ended. Evans called it somewhere around 3:00 as they had a long drive back to Ottawa where they were staying. Although we had kept a few walleye for them to enjoy tonight, they opted to pass and go out to a restaurant where they would eat instead. I freed all the fish to be caught another day. Luck fish today!
