Quality Fall Bass
November 1, 2019
The last day for sturgeon fishing saw Darren & I heading out for bass. Neither of us really wanted to anchor up and wait to get bit, so we decided to go for smallmouth, in hopes of a few giants.
With bad weather on the way, all I could hope for was a delay in its arrival and the radar looked like it just might happen. We fished through the morning without any precipitation and pounded smallies one after the other. It was just like old times with no boats in sight!
The rain did finally catch up to us however and from noon until the time we left, it literally never stopped. Intermittent at times and heavy at others, we just kept catching bass! In fact we fished through it all and caught bass even in the worst! In the end however, we decided to call it a little early and quit before 3:00.
Today was one of those days when you were glad to be on the water. A lack of boat traffic made it relaxing to fish and despite the wet afternoon, very enjoyable. We may not have gotten into any monsters but plenty of quality fish were landed making this one of the best fall days of fishing yet!
