Trophy Bass Bite
November 10, 2021
I was back out today after watching the nicest fall weekend pass me by. Motor issues had me off the water and I had to take Scott out in his boat instead. Cory and Manson were with us as well and we were going to make the best of a bad situation! I only hoped the fish would cooperate!
We headed out in sunshine and flat calm conditions, making for a smooth ride to our first spot. They started with dropshot rigs and only managed to miss a few bites. It wasn’t until I changed up techniques that the fish began to come aboard. Cory even landed his personal best! It made the trophy list that the others both had from previous years of fishing with me. It was a giant! Everyone managed to catch a bunch of bass and walleye but Cory definitely had the hot hand today.
By late afternoon the fishing had slowed down, so I decided to make a long run to another area. It was here that we would be spending the remainder of the time catching fish! Plenty of walleye came aboard with several good smallies as well. Double headers and even a few triples were seen in the time we remained. If we had of been keeping fish they would have all had their limits!
Without having to drive home with my boat in tow, I decided to hold out a bit longer and arrived back at the launch by 4:00. It’s always hard to leave when the fish are biting and they were definitely chewing this afternoon. In fact we left them biting!
Scott, Manson & Cory saw a different day today after spending 4 hours yesterday with only a handful of fish to show for their efforts. This was like the Olympics to them with high numbers for everyone! I only hope that I can get back out in my boat again before this year ends. I will be making a decision on what to do tomorrow but I know it won’t be cheap. I may have to bite the bullet for this year despite how good it still is. We’ll just have to wait & see!!
