Quality Not Quantity
November 15, 2021
I was back on the water with Darren today after testing the boat out last week with my wife. It was nice having a working motor again! We were going for bass this morning with a change to walleye by afternoon. Hopefully they would both work out and we would have some success!
The first spot had us directly in big wind and heavy current, but Darren managed a few quick bites with one nice smallie. Several others were also landed but there were more misses than hookups! We moved around a bunch and even switched up presentations to get additional bites after leaving the area. We were having a hard time holding and I didn’t want to burn the batteries out too early in the day!
Sometime after midday we relocated to another area much further away. I knew we would be able to get into some walleye here and hopefully a few more good bass. It wasn’t long before the first eye was hooked into and it entered the livewell for Darren to bring home. Several more were also landed and a few of them joined the other one as well. Along the way, a couple of bass were caught that were definitely quality and worthy of pics. When the action slowed from here, I decided to change locations and unfortunately only perch were caught.
Time was dwindling out for our day and I decided to go back to where we had started earlier. Apparently it was the right decision! We finished out a limit of walleye and returned several others much bigger before we were done!
Today was another great one with slower action, but plenty of good fish. We may have had to work harder than I had expected but in the end it was another successful fishing day. Hopefully Mother Nature will bless us with a few more before I am done. Water temps are pretty warm for this time of year and there’s still plenty of fish to be caught, before freeze up. I’m sure I’ll be back with a few more happy guests in the weeks to come!!
