The Challenge
August 29, 2026
The conditions weren’t great today with a big west wind blowing 3 footers for most of the day. I had another double trip set and would be doing a lot of running back and forth in the waves! Alfred and his friend joined me in the morning and managed to land a bunch of good smallies, along with walleye and perch. Daniel and his wife were in the afternoon and I think the conditions worsened. I was forced to use a drift sock just to slow the speed down. This was the only way I could manage to keep them feeling bottom on the passes we made. It definitely wasn’t the easiest fishing, but somehow, I made it work. Bass were both landed as well as lost by both. Add the full moon to the mix and it surely wasn’t easy! Overall, a tough and challenging day!!
