Crazy Wind Switches

Day 2 with Doc & his grand kids saw similar weather and fishing. We were roasting early with the high heat & humidity, once again! The weeds were floating everywhere and some of the areas I wanted to try, were impossible to fish. We definitely made it work however with plenty of hooked bass and walleye early in the morning. They boxed a half dozen eyes for a Taco Tuesday dinner and released even more short & long ones as well. Along with these, there were plenty of bass let go too!

We decided to make a long run after finishing up the morning and hit other areas where we should have been sheltered. All morning long the winds kept switching and coming at us from different directions. This was no different as the north that we left soon turned into a south west when we stopped to fish. It even got big at times! It didn’t matter however as they kept catching bass from these spots too!

The afternoon was once again a deep-water bite as I decided to drift some ledges in hopes of even more bass. With the north wind blowing again, it made it more difficult to get a proper presentation. They still managed several more fish before we ended the day. Doc even came up with a clutch fish when he landed a good one, minutes before we were done.

Fishing was good for the second day in a row and I only hope I can keep it up for a couple more. Doc, Caluum, Charlie & Jack are having a blast and I’d like to continue with the great bite. I’m sure that with 4 rods working, someone’s will almost always be bent. Tight lines for another couple of days please!!
