What a cold day! I fished with Tony today on Lake St-Francis and had ice forming in the guides all day long. The air temps started just over 20 degrees and didn’t make it above freezing all day. Thankfully, there was no wind and it got sunny around 11:00 in the morning. Tubes and spider grubs were the ticket today. Tony started out the day with his first smallmouth bass caught, being an honest 6 pounds. “It’s going to be tough to top that one,” I said. There were only 3 fish during the entire day that went below 3 pounds and the balance of 30 bass exceeded the four-pound mark. There were several over 5 pounds and most were around 4.5 pounds. What a day!!!!
